The gale force winds and the driving rain during the days preceding the weekend wedding of Jess and Oli was not going to dampen anyones spirits or deter them from their goal yesterday. After months of planning and hours and hours of work everything fell seamlessly into place and the sun determinedly peaked through and although the blustery wind persisted, it was beautiful up at Harry Warren House on the Purbeck coastline overlooking Old Harrys Rocks.
The most enormous marquee was nestled into the sheltered garden and was decked out to perfection awaiting the wedding cake, the final piece of the jigsaw and what a perfect high summer cake it was, decked with peonies and roses supplied and bestowed with the help of the lovely Gulsen from Blooming Posh Nosh.
Sometimes a cake is just asking for a venue and that venue is just what the cake needs and this is the case with this cake, three times it has been ordered and delivered in one form or another to Harry Warren House and each time it has looked completely individual and totally different depending on the time of year.
It is now simply called the Harry Warren Cake.
